 3rd Grade - Mrs. Burke's Page
Welcome to 3rd Grade
2008-2009 School Year
Mrs. Burke & Mrs. Dallapiazza
Here is some information about 3rd grade for you and your parents

Best way to communicate is email, if that’s not available or possible then calling the office at 303.347.4725 and leaving a message works well too (this is not our voicemails).

Homework Expectations:

  • 20 minutes of reading a night
  • Math usually Monday – Thursday (sometimes math, certain classroom projects, or studying for a test may carry over through the weekend)
  • Your child will receive a planner in which homework and other reminders will be written down daily. A signature is required everyday so we know the work is being completed. Also, the planner is a great way to communicate with us, you can leave notes, attach reminders, etc.
  • There is study hall for students who don’t complete their homework and/or don’t get their planner signed. Students come to study hall (usually one of our classrooms) after lunch instead of going outside.

Dear Parents,

We know that it may be tricky to find time to get to the library and check out new books or sometimes your children may attempt to read books that are a challenge. Although we encourage children to visit the library and find books of interest, we now have a new way for you and your child to read at home! Our new Houghton Mifflin reading series allows children to access hundreds of ‘just right’ books from home by accessing http://eduplace.com/eservices. You’ll find this program to be such a motivator and a frequented website that you’ll want to add to your favorites! We will also have a link on our Literacy Web page
